talespinfan asked: Hello! I stumbled upon your TaleSpin covers, and I'm shocked that Boom Studios had concrete plans for new TaleSpin comics!!! Do you know if more covers were made before this was cancelled or something? Do you know why it never happened?

Sorry to mislead. The illustrations were just a private commission. To my knowledge there were no concrete plans for TaleSpin comics from Boom. But rest assured, if there were, I’d have been all over that like majesty on Don Karnage.

My submission for Project Rooftop’s latest superhero costume redesign contest, “Fashion Forward”.

I went with a 60’s space adventure feel, and made their costume palette CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow … blacK?) for some extra retro, four-color comic influence.

I played some D&D this week for the first time in quite a while. Good times.
Between rounds I worked on a sketch of my character, an Eladrin Bladesinger.

davidthejoyner asked: You called my Jake Suit animation fantastic and now I feel great. Thanks for the good feelings.

I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em.

A little inspiration to go pick up Adventure Time comic issue 6 today at your local or digital comic shop.

Someone made a fantastic animation out of a thing I drew! How the stupid did I not see this earlier?

JAKE SUIT! I made this. It’s loosely based on the transformation from the comic, which is pretty neat.

Note: THIS IS AWESOME

Epic Finn. Probably my favorite assignment last weekend.
Thanks to the guy who requested it, and Jen for documenting it.

Where will Braden and Shelli be at SDCC?
If you’re like me, you’re wondering where I’ll be at any given time during San Diego Comic Con (which starts this week). Well, wonder no longer! Join me as I discover my schedule for the convention…
Most of the times - Doing commissioned sketch covers like the one above at the BOOM! studios booth. Get there early each day to be sure of a spot on the list! Also, we’ll probably have special times set aside each day for signing things, so check on those when you stop by if you want things signed. Booth 2743
Friday, 2:00-3:00 - BOOM! Studios: Adventure Time Comic Book— What time is it? It’s Adventure Time! The top-rated Cartoon Network show is now a bestselling comic book published by KaBOOM! You won’t want to miss this all-star panel featuring the show’s creator Pendleton Ward, along with series artists Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb (Ice Age) and writer/artist Meredith Gran (Octopus Pie) of the new miniseries Marceline and the Scream Queens, as they discuss what’s next for the Land of Ooo in the world of comics. Room 23ABC
Don’t be sad if you come to the booth and we’re not there. We may be eating food, or just taking in the convention. There will be other folks doing sketches and such - folks like Chris Houghton, who does the main cover for each issue. He’s good people.
Hope to see you there!

The first Adventure Time art Braden and were asked to do were spec covers for Kaboom! No pressure, right?  This was our alternative cover design for #1, which perhaps suggested a bit too much plot when we didn’t yet know what Ryan North’s story was.  Nevertheless we liked it enough to finally finish the illustration!
