Future Finn as he appears in issue 25, and an earlier sketch of same.

Emerald City Comic Con 2014 was so great! Met some awesome people, like Katcakes (seen above with an astounded Shelli) who came in costume as Queen Bubblegum (battle mode) from issue 8 of the Adventure Time Comic!

Also, here’s a few commissions I did over the weekend. (Apologies for color and skewing weirdness due to close-quarters photography.) I may do more like these in the future - taking my time on just a handful of drawings per day. More satisfying for me, and also hopefully for you folks who get them.

Next stop, MeCAF: May 18 in Portland, ME.

WHAT? TWO new comics this week from Ryan, Braden and Shelli? Are you for reals?

I am in fact for reals!

  • The fun continues to never end in Adventure Time #23, and also…
  • The fun begins to never end in The Midas Flesh #1.

You have probably heard of the former, so here’s a little about the latter:

Fatima and her space crew have decided to return to Earth—a planet completely sectioned off, abandoned, and covered in gold—to find out exactly what happened to this once thriving planet and see if they can use that knowledge against the evil empire that’s tracking them down. As luck would have it, they just landed the most powerful weapon in the universe: some ancient dead guy’s body.

"Where can I get these amazing comics?" I hear you ask from some great physical and temporal distance. Well, I recommend going to your local comic shop. If that’s not local enough, you could also get them direct from Boom! And check it: you could even sign up to get each issue of the 8-chapter story delivered to you as it comes out, and as a bonus, get a rad print made by Emily Partridge!

Ryan, Shelli and I are totally proud of this thing. You would do well to check it out. I’m gonna go make some more of it, now.

Original art of the first 5 pages of Adventure Time #15 are up on ebay!
Issue 15 marks the first time we (series artists Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb) have done traditional art for the interior of the comic. All the art we’ve done for previous issues has been entirely digital. What does this mean? Just that this is the first time original art has been available from our work on the feature storyline! Pretty flippin’ rare and wonderful, eh?
